My wife had a dislocated pinky and was helped very will and the service was pretty good. Received the bill today for the dislocated pinky. The bill had a large number of duplicate lines on it ( an itemized list of 8 items resulted in over 60 line items, both positive and negative ) and after going thru it in detail, we discovered that North Central Surgical Center charged twice for an image. After spending 2 hours on a call with several representatives (was disconnected by one of them), they admitted the mistake.

I want to give credit to a few of the nurses who helped me during my recent visit. On day one, I had a minor incision issue that the charge nurse, Kaleigha, and nurse Katrina took care of and were immediately in contact with the doctor. The overall HERO nurses is named Cami and Zoey, what a gift, these ladie made sure meds were always on time, I had more than I needed and left a note of encouragement for me. The food here is outstanding as well! Yes being admitted isn’t a good thing but the staff here is amazing, thank you all very much!! Thank you Zoey and Carrie!!!

I have gotten a couple of MRI’s here. All of the staff are super nice. The company is real good about giving money back when your insurance covered to cost. They do collect payment upfront but they always send me a check 2 months later after insurance pays. For that reason I try to use them all the time as other places never do that.

First timer here. Overall , I am not impressed and hope to never have to visit them anytime in the near future. From front door in , I encountered disorganized dismissive staff. I report to suite # listed in my preregistration instructions. Before even looking me up in a system , the admin tells me to go to another suite # on another floor to be treated. Wobbled there (pain and health issue aggravated more by the now 15 hour long NPO instruction they gave me. Again, I am dismissed and sent to another suite # back on first floor, They at least doubled checked me against their who appt list , but since I wasn’t listed there , they redirected me back to where I started.. I started crying . My pain , my exhaustion and foggy brain just couldn’t hold it together anymore . Then the extra emotional burden of embarrassment and feelings of helplessness and inadequateness overwhelmed me to the point of leaving as soon as I could, But then things turned for the better. The admins there rallied to help and make some calls on my behalf snd figure out where I needed to be, which ended up being somewhere I had already been redirected from . Spent nearly 2 hours past my appt time signing more legal paperwork stuff printed badly blurred copies , while I am now 17 hours into my fast of no water, No food , nothing for pain (not even an aspirin or Advil) If I can’t drive myself to or fro for your appt ,I don’t think I should be coerced into signing any of your mandatory paperwork of financial obligations to you by me or your non liability of me to you. You could have presented that mandatory paperwork upfront before the patient arrived in pain and in the middle of an NPO. On to the surgery prep area. Smiles and professional expert level caregivers who eased my anxiety as they verified my medical history, took vitals /labs and got my IV fluids .They finished up and left. As I wait for my surgery , a group of nursing staff all their delish smelling food in to the station area. Conversations akin to the 9th grade ego of a child attempting to prove they are superior adults. The endless banter of who cute , who stupid and what places are best to party at convos , continues as a wonderful anesthesician pops in to evaluate me for my customized magic brew of relaxed sedation while avoiding any complications. Anesthesia leaves . The endless breakroom convo at the nurse station crew 10 ft from me as my IV bag runs completely dry, has now transitioned the topic toward disrespectful remarks toward the patients in their care and the padding thru doctors (after they exited the area) I divert my thoughts to ease my anxiety and hope for advancement to surgery area. More bad news as I encounter Administrative issues again. unresolvable to administrator’s apparently. I watch helpless the chaos my surgery delays and anxiety rise. 1 person took the time ,to fix this issue caused by the hospitals lacking administrative processes that was about to cancel my surgery . A surgical doctor , dealt with the missing Paperwork , incorrect department phone lists and other ADMINISTRATIVE duties. A surgeon not an admin. This should have never happened! Company processes involved with gov related contract will always require a checklist verification to be performed before this point in the outlined company process. BTW, your station nurse staff 10 ft from me did nothing to offer help or assistance other than verify a (singular) fax number for that station. Everybody leaves except the 3 nurse station space lumps , still complaining and spewing negative words as My surgery time is bumped out further and a wait with empty iv bag. I listen to their ideas of How their time could more efficient and costs cut if patients were stacked up in tiny bunk beds , maybe on a conveyor belt . …. I verbally interjected my disapproval of the convo One of them locked gave with me thru my still open curtain and laughed at me. Within minutes A nurse popped in to inform me that I was cleared for my surgery. The brat pack fled unseen behind her back .

I had a mixed experience during my stay. The front desk staff that checked me in was sweet, helpful, and answered all my husband’s and my questions without hesitation. My surgery went well, which we’re grateful for, so that’s definitely a huge positive! However, some aspects of my care left a lot to be desired. I was extremely disappointed to overhear two nurses speaking about me as I was coming out of anesthesia. One nurse sounded visibly annoyed, stating, "I'm just going to take her upstairs and let them handle her," while the other mentioned, "I'll give her some saline." It was disheartening and unprofessional to hear that kind of conversation, especially at such a vulnerable moment. Upstairs, my first nurse also exhibited poor bedside manner. I felt rushed and like my concerns weren’t being heard. I repeatedly told her, through tears, how much pain and discomfort I was in, but all she said was that I had to wait for more time to pass before I could get another dose of pain medication. After nearly three hours of agonizing pain, I finally told her to inform my surgeon that the pain management wasn’t working. She reluctantly agreed to call but didn’t seem optimistic, claiming there wasn’t much more they could do. This was completely wrong. Once the surgeon prescribed a new pain med, the relief was almost immediate, so it was frustrating to have to wait that long. The night nurse, however, was a bright spot. While I didn’t see her much because I was trying to rest, she was kind and attentive, even asking my husband if he needed anything. A special shoutout to Chrissy, who was not only helpful but also sweet and funny to talk to! Overall, I don’t think I would return here. I felt like a burden and was honestly scared to speak up. As a patient recovering from surgery, the last thing I needed was to feel like my concerns weren’t important or heard. It was an upsetting experience, and I hope the hospital takes this feedback seriously to improve the care and communication moving forward.
