Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through โ€” a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I had my first colonoscopy and everything turned out great. I was taken are of from the beginning of my visit there with check in at the front desk, until I was ready to check out. The staff was very professional and personable at the same time. Dr. Macurak was very professional and had a wonderful bedside manner. Ms. Allen who was my anesthesiologist was very kind and made me feel very comfortable . My two nurses Ms. Marie who took care of me at the beginning and Ms. Dorothy who was there for me during recovery. I would definitely recommend this doctor as well as this facility.

I was pleasantly surprised regarding the order, promptness and professionalism of all the staff. Too, Dr.Allen, the anesthesiologist made me comfortable before the procedure by her conversation with me. Maria and Dorothy were the staff in the medical part of the operation. Also, the receptionist was welcoming . I apologize for not remembering her name. Dr.Schwartz was his usual great practitioner self that I was familiar with from my experience with him some 7+ years ago.

I had a nice people thru the time I signed in to the time I woke up and was seated in a wheelchair chair and went home. Next day my chest hurt as I touched it same with my chin. Next day a Bruce on my chest and it hurt . I called to asked why and I was told someone will call me back. Since no one called back I went to the location and explained to the front desk my concern and I showed her my bruises. Again I was told she will send an e mail to the doctor Lostak and to the office mgr. Still no response. What made me have the bruise?? I hope some can explain.

The phycility was very nice and clean as I walked in the office. The front desk clerk was very polite and professional. OMG there's not enough words I could say about the nursing staff, they all went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable throughout my procedure. And lastly but not least the team of doctors were very professional made me their priority and tended to my needs to the upmost. My overall experience was exceptional ๐Ÿ‘Œ!!
