Edit 08/15/25: this review was intended for the Baylor Surgicare - Garland on N. George Bush Hwy The healthcare providers there are great but the office manager and billing department are really, really bad about not returning phone calls. I have been working with both the billing department and office manager about an overpayment on my account (of nearly $1,400.00) for either a refund to me or a credit back to my Care Credit account. I have left multiple messages for each on their respective voicemail boxes over the past couple of weeks to get an update and have not received a call back from either one. It's unacceptable and unreasonable all at the same time, not to mention extremely frustrating. I will do everything I can to avoid having to use this facility for any procedure or service in the future once this has been resolved if given a choice. Your milage may vary but mine has been unpleasant so definitely hold this into consideration when choosing a facility for a necessary procedure.
DO NOT GO TO THIS SURGICAL CENTER! Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with any medical staff. Anyone from the second you walk in, is absolutely condescending and rude and has horrible bedside manner. The nurses were talking trash about other patients while they thought I was asleep. They were man handing me when I was barely even awake. They didn’t let me actually wake up after the surgery and recover before going home (the surgeon told me I would have multiple hours of recover time). The nurse point blank said that they need the bed for another patient even though at that time there was no one else in the area. I can go on and on. Paying $5000 to be treated like absolute trash is ridiculous. Please listen to this and never come here. PS look through my other reviews and you’ll see that I review any place I go and I’m always honest about my experience. I’ve ever had such a horrible medical experience.
READ WITH ATTENTION AND CAREFULLY This place is one of the most unprofessional medical center in Texas, my daughter was the patient, an endoscopy exam was scheduled for 10:00 AM, but she was only seen after I got into trouble with the doctor and all his incompetent team, since my daughter's appointment was scheduled for 10AM and she was only seen at 2PM. The service team should all be unemployed, lack of professionalism and empathy with patients, people who are seeking medical services are not always at the best of their lives, but are rude, untrained, and look like collectors and not professionals at a medical office. I don't know if this review will be useful for you who are reading it, but I really recommend that you look for another place, I hope and wish that places like this are banned from the face of the earth, and that all professionals who "play" with the lives of people treated at this location go through the same experience, in order to give the least amount of time and people who need an exam, who are not asking for any favor, but rather paying for a service.
I had a procedure done here this morning and I had the BEST experience. I cannot say enough kind things about the staff at Baylor Surgicare Garland. I drove from Oklahoma, so I was unsure about the area and the Surgical Center, but it was amazing. I would drive from another country to use this facility. Every person I dealt with, from the sweet lady that checked me in, to my nurses in the back, the OR staff and my amazing doctor and my Anesthesiologist were the absolute best. Thank you Baylor Surgicare Garland for taking such good care of me today, you guys are the BEST!! I highly recommend this facility if you have to have any type of procedure done, I promise you will be very well taken care of.
Ive thought a lot about writing this review but ultimately here it is because I wish I’d known how things would go before choosing to have a procedure here. Several months ago I was scheduled for my procedure. The coordination and communication was wonderful and the coordinator was very friendly and helpful. Everything was great at the time of check in. The facility is much older and worn than I was expecting but the people were friendly. I was taken back and this is where the issues started. There was no clear communication regarding who was my RN or what to expect at first. The surgeon and the anesthesiologist came in after awhile and talked with me. I should include that I am a nurse and have had multiple surgeries in my life so I don’t need a lot of reassuring or have a ton of questions . I was sedated and taken back for the procedure. The procedure reported went as expected and to my knowledge the surgery itself was without issue. However, I had some type of reaction because my blood pressure became critically high and I required medication to lower it at least a couple of times. As I woke up, I began working to get out of bed and walk around. For the most part, I felt things were okay. I was preparing to be discharged home. Then my blood pressure started rising again. The RN was rightly concerned and contacted the charge nurse. She chose to move the cuff lower on my arm to get a false low reading so I could be discharged. Their concern wasn’t my safety, it was getting out of there. I knew this poor practice and unsafe, but I did not trust them from that moment on and decided to stay silent and try to manage myself at home. Ultimately, my blood pressure continued to rise and I was back in the ED within a few hours. I continued to have blood pressure instability for a few days. In addition, I couldn’t turn my head at all for about 2 weeks, so I’m fairly certain my head was malpositioned during the surgery and caused a pinched nerve. All in all - my surgeon was fine but both the nurse and the anesthesiologist felt it was okay to discharge me and didn’t bother making sure it was safe. Had I went home and did not know to monitor or that there was a concern, I would have taken the pain meds and went to sleep, and likely had a stroke. Safety should come first. Their practice showed that they didn’t agree. Update: I forgot to add... they did not bill my insurance before the ED so my out of pocket expenses was reached before they were paid and they owed me a partial refund. When I called about this, they gave me the”she’s out of office so you’ll have to call back” then it took a couple more calls before I actually got the person who could issue the refund. She was extremely rude, which was very different than when they were taking my money. At first she said they hadn’t been paid, so I shared the date/time they received the electronic payment. She said it takes a certain amount of time to process, that time has passed. She then said it would be a month before it applied to my account. I did get the refund, but it was not a great customer service experience. I felt as if I had to prove they owed me the refund and then they were upset about it.
