Stacy, my sons pre-op nurse was phenomenal. She helped my son feel at ease with the entire process. She even had him hear his own heart beat with the stethoscope. Gary made the transition from pre-op to the OR seamless! Helped my son feel safe. Brandi, post-op nurse was patient and caring. Facility is very clean. Overall, very positive experience!
Poor! ABSOLUTELY POOR! This surgical center is all physician owned and operated. Each of them have a vested interest, meaning they each receive a portion of the revenue (which has annual sales of approximately USD 4,714,652, and only about 30 actual employees). With that, they have financial incentives to perform more procedures and steer patients to their own facilities. They hound you from start to finish about paying upfront, and very intimidatingly. Then, you are double-billed for things like anesthesia from both the CRNA (Gary A Wiscombe) and the Anesthesiologist (Tony Gianoulis, MD), and the actual costs are about the same for each. This was a simple, uncomplicated foot surgery for healthy women with no medical issues. Then you have to call Dallas for the billing folks to make an inquiry about the potential double-billing error and to receive an actual EOB, and are rudely told "You signed the form to pay." After six weeks they never sent the actual EOB, so I called again... they said they can only email it to me, NOT SEND IT! I did finally get it via email, but not until AFTER THEY TURNED IT OVER TO COLLECTIONS (Express Recovery Services, INC - SLC)! I guess they didn't like me questioning the potential double-billing... HMMMM... They (all those affiliated with Lone Peak Surgery Center) should be turned into the Utah Attorney General, Derek Brown, for a full investigation of improprieties at this location for their billing (and double-billing) practices. Also for the intimidation demands for pre-payment. I believe it would also fall under insurance fraud as well! Clearly my experience is not much different from others posing concerns, so just BEWARE!!!
The experience was great! The nurses in the surgery center are phenomenal, knowledgeable and friendly. We even had nurses that weren't taking care of my husband ask if we needed anything. I would recommend Lone Peak Surgical Center.
If I could give no stars I would. My three year daughter was scheduled for a surgery and I was filling out all information for pre-registration and was contacted (via voicemail) by the office personnel and told that I had to pay for that procedure in full on the day of the procedure. That I would not be able to be billed. I called office back, hoping for an explanation and was met with discontent and annoyance on behalf of the office staff. They could not explain the cause or reason for the surgery cost needing to be paid up front. Mind you I have insurance, they would not bill insurance first. I was very distraught. And was met with a statement by the staff of “Ma’am this is an elective procedure and unnecessary, so if you can’t pay then….” This was not an elective procedure, and in fact medically necessary as stated by my insurance preauthorization. I told them that I am canceling the procedure with them and contacted my doctor’s office. This was for a three year old, and this office staff was rude and lacked empathy. I WILL tell EVERYONE I know about this. Disgusted at how I was treated as though I am a dollar bill and zero regard for my child.
Had surgery on my ankle here after slipping on ice and breaking it. Dr Meadows was my surgeon and he was so great. The PA I spoke with the day before was so kind and explained everything to me. The staff was absolutely amazing. I have an extreme phobia of needles and past trauma from hospitals so I was very nervous. They were kind, compassionate, patient, and overall the most caring group of people I have met. They talked me through everything with the IV. The anesthesiologist allowed me to wait until after the surgery to decide if I would like to have the nerve blocker (an injection in the back of the knee while you are awake) which I greatly appreciated. Dr Meadows was able to get me in less than 48 hours after my break and I am beyond grateful for him and his skills. He explained everything he would do as well as answered all of my questions in detail and with honesty. My X rays looked great and the pain is manageable. The after surgery care was amazing, everyone there makes you feel safe and cared about. I want to say a big thank you to the staff at Lone Peak Surgery Center! Y’all are amazing!
