Had sclerotherapy and ablations done on my right leg from an injury at work. Dr Hathaway did an excellent job during the consultation all the way through the surgical procedure. Currently healing well. I highly commend the nurses Teresa and Kelly. They were sociably fun and comforting considering it was my first time having any kind of anesthesia or surgery. I would definitely choose Wasatch Vascular Center over UofU again.
Dr Carlisle and his team are amazing. The staff and nurses were all kind, helpful and caring. I’m so thankful I was able to be treated by Dr. Carlisle. During our first appointment he took the time to talk with me in depth about the vein procedure I needed. He spent about 40 minutes carefully explaining the veins that were causing me pain and how he would treat them. I don’t think I’ve ever talked to any doctor for 40 minutes, especially a specialist. He even referred me another specialist just in case there were multiple things causing pain in the same area. The day of the procedure arrived and I was in considerable pain, having abstained from pain meds for the week prior to the treatment as per my instructions. The nurses were friendly, professional and competent, which helped relieve my anxiety. When the procedure was over, I was in little to no pain. I asked the nurse how much pain medication I had in my system since I was under sedation for the procedure. She said none, I hadn’t had any pain meds. That blew my mind. I came to the center with considerable pain and left a few hours later with no pain. I have a very tiny scar after the procedure but it is so tiny that it required no stitches. I had so much anxiety before having the vein procedure but in the end it was such a blessing and I had nothing to worry about. I was in competent, experienced and professional hands the whole time. And as a side note, Dr Carlisle was correct in his assumption that there were multiple things causing pain in the same area. After the vein procedure I was able to tell exactly where the other source of pain was coming from and am having that treated soon by the specialist he referred me to on our first appointment. I’m so thankful for him and his knowledge and experience! This procedure was successful and I have my life back!
The surgeon here put in my wife’s fistula a few years ago and has performed maintenance on it several times since. I have found the entire staff to be attentive and competent. The facility is clean.
Last year I had a Hemorrhoidal Artery Embolization with Dr. Carlisle at the Wasatch vascular center the procedure targets the blood supply of internal hemorrhoids. Blocking these arteries shrink internal hemorrhoids and stops bleeding. Unfortunately, the procedure was unsuccessful! What they use to stop The bleeding was put in the wrong place and caused a hole in my colon causing, severe pain and problems lasting six months. Some of the worst pain I’ve ever had. I was told by three doctors after that the problem was caused from improper placement during the procedure? Dr. Carlisle and the staff are very kind and very helpful but a simple procedure can turn your life upside down physically and financially, I wish I never had the procedure…
I have had non healing Venus ulcers on my ankle for the past 5 years and I have seen 7 different doctors over the past years to try and heal them up with no success. Dr. Hathaway was able to help me get them closed up in a month and I am incredibly grateful! Great clinic and Dr. Hathaway is amazing.
