Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I was very pleased with the service, care, and results of my LASIK procedure. I have worn glasses and gas-permeable contact lenses for 30 + years, but hit a point where I was just over it. I was nervous, but committed, to have this procedure done. I was impressed with the thoroughness and patience of Dr. McCormick and his team to make sure I was a good candidate and that my eyes were "ready" for LASIK. I am more than pleased with the results. No regrets other than I wish I had done this years ago.

Such a good experience. I felt held in the amount of information - through speaking and through packets - I received, and so held in the encouragement and feedback I received throughout the procedure (I got vision correction through lasik). Thank you for being so kind and gentle and informative.

Dr. McCormick and his team are wonderful! They happily answered any questions I had and the procedure went smoothly. The only pain I experienced was the evening of the surgery where my eyes felt scratching and irritated (to be expected). By the next morning, I was pain free and experienced no other symptoms. I’m about 2 months post-op and can see better than I have in 30 years.

I recently had LASIK done and Dr.McCormick and his team were amazing! From the first phone call and email correspondence to the procedure and post op - everything was seamless and everyone so chill and friendly! The culture Dr.McCormick has fostered in his office is commendable. :) During the procedure he made me feel very confident and walked me through every step. Oh-and I can see!! I sat up immediately after the procedure and could read the second hand on the clock across the room!! Day 4 w/my new eyes and vision is great-a tad dry but that’s to be expected. Great experience! Thank you!!

From the first email asking for information to the day of surgery and beyond I have been extremely happy with the personnel, service and support. Everyone in the office is incredibly friendly and professional. They spent the time answering all my questions and made sure I had all the information I needed to make an informed decision. I was very nervous the day of surgery but Dr. McCormick and the team made it such a great experience. They did everything to make me comfortable and the care was amazing. I had my follow up 1 week checkup with my local eye doctor and he was amazed at the progress and how great everything was healing! I would absolutely recommend this teak for anyone considering laser eye corrections.
