On the 15th of April I was scheduled for surgery on my shoulder at the Surgery Center of Chesapeake General. This procedure has been months of planning for work off time, saving to accommodate the off time, appointments with my surgeon, MRI and all the while dealing with pain that has been on going for 5 years. On the 14th I was notified by my surgeon's office that the surgery center has cancelled my surgery due to a lack of necessary fluids for the surgery. (Saline Solution) Months of notice and planning and now I have waited a week and still no word on when my surgery can be done. I've contacted the patient advocate and I have tried every avenue that I can to try to find out when I will be able to get my shoulder fixed. Very poor communication and very poor service. They obviously do not care about their patients and how their actions or lack thereof inconveniences them.

My daughter had surgery here yesterday. From the time we checked in and left, everyone was so welcoming and nice! I can not say enough great things about the surgery center. It was a great experience, especially after our last visit at another surgery center.

Just had knee surgery here yesterday with Dr. Shall, and I must say, it was a very smooth, organized, and quick process. It wasn't very busy there, and from the time of check-in to discharge, it was a very pleasant experience. The lady at the front desk who checked me in and everyone else (nurses, Dr. Ulicny (anesthesia), and Dr. Shall) were all great and very kind. I would recommend The Surgery Center of Chesapeake to others.

Everyone at the surgery center was very professional and courteous. They tell you they will take good care of you every step of the way. I had a much better experience than I anticipated. Special shout-out to Nurse Jeanie, who put the IV in my hand at my request. Thank you to everyone!
