Not a location I would recommend for the elderly whom rely on others for transportation; and whom are on fixed incomes. Twice I ran into prescription issues with the Collinsville, Va location (Eye Site) calling in name brand prescriptions for my mother. Each time I had to contact them and remind them of her financial situation. For the surgery she was advised one eye drop would cost her $300+ ...really. Is this a payment for a fixed income??? When we agreed to surgery we advised the Harmon Surgical Centers team in Collinsville (Eye Site) to contact me as I’m her transportation and will be traveling from Virginia Beach (4 hrs away). Weeks went by and we never received notice of her surgery date; therefore I called the Eye Site in Collinsville. I was advised of the date and time; submitting vacation time and finding childcare for my two boys. I arrive to take my mother for surgery, we leave Collinsville at 12pm for a 4pm appointment as neither of us are familiar with Lynchburg. We arrive at 3:04; to be told they called to cancel and reschedule my mother’s surgery. Of course I was taken off guard as neither my mother or I had messages. We were treated as if it was our fault for arriving; again no contact from the Eye Site in Collinsville or the Harmon Surgical Center. When I mentioned this to the young lady with Curley hair (no name tag). Her response was “I can’t help if you didn’t get a message; everyone I called was aware”. I used a few curse words due to the situations such as BS and sh@t. This young lady and Jane were extremely rude not offering assistance of any kind. Both asking me not to use such language. I explained it’s the situation in and of itself. The only individual that showed empathy was a young man wearing a pink dress shirt. Who stated it was his first day. I’m not finished sharing the disappointment with both locations and the lack of professionalism. Next comes dhp.Virginia.gov, and I’ll go from there. If your parents, relatives or friends need you to drive them or if they are on a fixed income. The Harmon Center and their partner Eye Site in Collinsville are not for them.
