This surgical center is very busy and modern state of the art facility. I am semi retired with lots of time to spare to address my health concerns. I had a 920am arrival time. That's the time they want you to arrive because it's a very busy place. I had to wait about an hour. I was brought back into a prep room and swarmed over by about a dozen ancillary medical personnel. About an hour later I was wheeled into the operating room. After being wrapped like a mummy and about 30 minutes after consuming midazolam that was the last thing I remember of my cataract surgery. The next thing I remember vaguely is being placed in my wife's car for transportation home. I am very happy and pleased with this whole process that was orderly, efficient, and carried out and supervised by very caring and competent personnel in addition to my surgEON.
Great service and staff but finding their payment portal is like a needle in a haystack. Too much cross over with VA Eye Consultants, multiple websites, payment vendors, etc. It is beyond frustrating and doesn't need to be this complicated...if they want people to pay their bills. Statements don't even include a URL for payments - only phone or mail. Unacceptable.
Had and appointment for father for cataract surgery at 8 am this morning. Got here at 7:45 check in and proceeded to wait in the waiting room for 2 hrs. And still haven't been called back. Then they tell me it's not an appointment it is an arrival time. This isn't an airport. The person I made THE APPOINTMENT with didn't say repair to be waiting over 2 hours. Total BS
My Mom had Yag laser eye surgery yesterday morning, and the surgery center looked very new, and aesthetically pleasing. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the procedure was very quick for her vision in the right eye.
I loved it. People get the surgery center confused with Virginia Eye Center. The CVP Surgery Center is just across the street from VEC and is the surgery center division of VEC - and it is a well run, well organized and very efficient operation with outstanding facilities and support. I am very happy to say that having cataract surgery here is a great experience and as stress free as these types of things can be. Since they do hundreds of procedures every week, they are also VERY experienced, know what they are doing, and produce excellent results and outcomes. I don't think you could get any better than this anywhere in the US for this type of surgery. Scheduling is meticulous and well organized, and with experience here with four surgeries there is virtually no waiting to get in or out. Everything happens on time and on schedule, both from experience and observation of others here at the Center. Highly recommended.
