Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

New patient intake appointment for physician review of a joint discomfort issue. The appointment started on time. They needed x-rays and sent me up one floor where I was seen immediately. Back down to the second floor where I was seen by the physician a few minutes later. Intake receptionist was efficient polite and professional. As was the nurse that took me back and took notes about the issue and my medical history. Dr Lin was, as surgeons tend to be - in my experience - very clinical. He was polite, informative and answered every question I had thoroughly. My experience so far is that this is a solid clinic with great personnel.

I've had osteoarthritis in my left knee for about 5 years. I have only had to go in twice since the first visit. Dr Van Nielen and his nurse were amazing. I was in and out quickly and within 3 hours of getting my cortisone shot I was almost walking normally again. I trust this place completely to treat the damage or injury in as many ways as possible before having to resort to surgery.

Receptionists were very friendly and made you feel at ease. My nurse was great! And my doctor explained everything with me very very well plus he didn't mind me asking silly question. I felt that I was being taken care of very well in and with compassion.

I recently had carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel surgery on my right arm. I want to express how thankful and grateful I am for the outstanding surgical team who took care of me. My surgeon, Dr. Mitchell was a blessing. His surgical skills and bedside manner was very impressive! He and his surgical team were caring and comforting in all aspects. I would also like to thank Kristen, my Pre-Op RN, she helped me relax prior to the surgery. I highly recommend this facility for all your bone and joint needs. Thank you, again!

Surprised I was the only person in the waiting area and it still took thirty minutes to be seen, also the entire staff at the front desk was more concerned with which piece of birthday cake they got. It felt like listening to a bunch of teens discussing something irrelevant. As for as my treatment went the assistant and doctor were very professional and considerate to my questions. I’m always amazed at how great my knee feels after leaving my appointment, very little pain and much more mobility.
