I had my cataract surgeries done by Dr. Devin Harrison this January and February. I really like the approach of Dr Harrison. 1. He is the pre operation doctor and is the surgeon and the after operations visit doctor. ( the other two places that I visited, I was told that I wonât know who is the surgeon, whoever come in that day in my scheduled surgery date, then that will be my surgeon. And the surgeon doesnât do pre and after operation visits). 2. I like that Dr Harrison let me experiment the out come before making the selection of surgeries. a. I chose to correct my near sight, and realized that I lost reading ability without reading glasses after first eyeâs operation. Dr Harrison mentioned to me that I can do correct near sighted and one correct far sighted. I am not sure how that will feel. So he had a contact Lense to help me to feel my life would be like with two eyes with different corrections b. When it is time to decide if I need to have astigmatisms to be corrected. He told me that one eyeâ astigmatism is so insignificant and he doesnât recommend to correct. For the eye needs to have astigmatism to be corrected, he put a lenze on my eye that will correct the astigmatism. After seeing the difference, I chose to add astigmatism correction to that eye. I also like the optometrist who is very patiently helping me with the selection of contact lenses and eye exams/ yearly exam. The office people are all very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this office and Dr Harrison for cataract surgery.
Hey there Everyone, WOW đ˛!! Yesterday was my eye exam and my eyes dilated. My 1st time visit, I was super pleased and Happy with the the staff being so kind ,Dr Chen was amazing very professional and answered all my questions. I am 73 and I highly recommend Columbia River Eye Center.
I had the most horrific experience at this clinic today. It started with the doctors assistant, Steven entering into the exam room and asking me why my eyes were not dilated. I didnât know that this was something that I was expected to ask for. đ¤ˇđ˝ââď¸ He left the room and I could hear him and the nurses just outside the exam room discussing the reason for my visit. . At one point during the conversation about my visit I heard Steven say â makes my blood boil â. I would hate to think that he was talking about me or my visit. When I left the exam room two of the nurses were standing outside the exam room as if in waiting. I thanked them and just as I was out of eyesight I heard one of them say â no â and they started giggling. As though they had some kind of wager going on. In spite of Dr. Chen being absolutely wonderful during the exam, I will never step foot in this clinic again.
Iâve been a patient for several years now and was previously under the care of Dr. Smith and occasionally, Dr. Walterâs, however, both have left the clinic, so my care was transferred to Dr. Chen. Needless to say, it has not been a positive experience as my appointments with Dr. Chen, havenât been to the standard or the quality of care that Iâve grown accustomed to. After the initial intake interview, basic eye test, and dilation provided by the nurse, the ophthalmology examination provided by Dr. Chen equates to approximately five minutes, and I have two known eye conditions that affect my vision that were not assessed. However, I was told today that I have cataractâs and that my recent vision changes are due to dry eye, lack of sleep and dehydration, and then he goes on to say that that he would not be filling out any paperwork or faxing the update to my Nero ophthalmologist at Swedish hospital because he found it a waste of time and it would be my responsibility to contact them and provide the update myself, which shocked me. When I ask about the cataracts (because Iâve never been diagnosed with them prior to today), I was informed that they donât require any treatment and Dr. Chen became very dismissive and made it clear that my exam was over, and I needed to leave the room, Which the nurse promptly ushered me out the door and down the hallway. I find it very concerning that patient care has slid to such a low at this facility because Dr. Smith and Dr. Walters were always very friendly, provided thorough examinations, and truly showed their care to patients âŚ. I am truly disappointed and will be seeking my vision care elsewhereâŚ.
I've received care from Dr. Harrison, Dr. Walters, and Dr. Lee. I appreciate the excellent care I've received each time, and it's very important for me to trust the doctor who is doing surgery, laser work, injections, or eye exams. Sometimes I wait a while, but I understand that the doctor is taking time to give the same excellent care that I will receive. The office staff has always been organized, polite, and professional. Also, I want to acknowledge the person who does insurance billing. I previously had considerable problems with insurance, but the person at Columbia River Eye has helped me, and now insurance and billing always go through without any problem. It's just taken care of. Thank you!
