I reached out here after struggling to find a sooner appt at other locations in the area. I quickly saw a doctor to discuss my symptoms and was quickly scheduled for further evaluation after that. During the procedure, I was incredibly nervous and anxious and fearful, I’d never had anesthesia before but the team was very understanding and patient. Everything went as intended and I was very thankful for the team here.

I has been a patient for over two years now, heading there for many procedures and office visits (both at their Fremont and Northgate clinics.) My doctor is Dr Tamura, he is being good, helpful, clear and takes the time to explain things in a simple way to understand what is happening or about to happen with my health. His team, or at least some of the folks I have received care from (Alejandra, Reza and others) have been helpful and nice too. When was the last time you felt folks were treating you nicely at your doc appointment? Do I wish I had never had to visit them on the first place? Sure, a lot of health issues going on... but they do provide good care and I appreciate their time and help to navigate my conditions.

My doctor left. I needed a refill for a medication I’ve been on long term. They said they could only refill if I made a virtual appt with a nurse. Fine. I literally spent under 2 minutes saying what you just read. She said “oh? That’s all? Any questions” no. Got a bill for $80. I feel dumb- should have just done Teladoc! Feels like a total rip-off scheme for those whose doc left, and even the nurse seemed shocked that was all I needed

The nurses and desk staff I’ve worked with have overall been lovely, but had some pretty repeatedly negative experiences with Dr Gregory Bernstein. Doesn’t seem to ask many questions, then when I looked at my chart after intake, and second visit, quite a few things didn’t line up to concerns, or nature of issue. This has made me feel like I need to be proactive in providing more details, and asking questions, which he seemed to kind of discourage or be dismissive of. At one point he pointed out that he would be late to his next appointment, to answer questions which felt passive aggressive when he later said a followup wouldn’t be needed for a couple months, not leaving an opportunity to get questions answered, or address lingering quality of life issues. After this experience, and waiting a couple months after initial appointment, with recommendation to see how things shake out, was told to find a motility specialist in a hospital setting, which feels weird, since whole gut transit time is under 20 hours, and pretty frustrating, since there weren’t really followup measures or tests beyond “try taking a PPI and a laxative for a bit”, and now I have months more of delays after being told to “trust the plan” and wait. Good NPs are available sooner, but the fragmented care can cause issues. Eg Dr did banding (after was mischarted I had painless bleeding, where pain was the main concern), where I had an unexpected level of pain persisting for many weeks after, but NP not familiar with expected side effects of banding, and banding itself should have maybe be delayed since happened right after cleanout recommended by NP. Dr seemed offended when asked for evaluation to understand what was causing pain, did anoscopy but not DRE, said was muscle irritation, and to give it time. Got a referral to a PT, who then implied it may be surface irritation in another area. Don’t have an avenue to have someone properly check now, because the followup I had planned was cancelled.
