Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

HysteroscopyA slim camera passed through the cervix examines the inside of the uterus, and can remove polyps or fibroids in the same visit. No abdominal incision is involved. Cramping for a day or two afterward is normal.LaparoscopyA camera and instruments are inserted through small abdominal incisions, allowing diagnosis and treatment without a large open incision. Used for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and pelvic pain, with recovery measured in days rather than weeks.D&C (Dilation and Curettage)The cervix is dilated and the uterine lining removed, for heavy bleeding, after a miscarriage, or to obtain tissue for diagnosis. The procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes and most people return to normal activity within a day or two.Tubal LigationThe fallopian tubes are sealed, cut, or removed to provide permanent contraception. It should be considered irreversible — reversal is not reliably successful, so it is intended for people certain they do not want future pregnancy.Endometrial AblationThe uterine lining is destroyed to reduce or stop heavy menstrual bleeding, offering an alternative to hysterectomy. It is not a contraceptive, and it is only appropriate for those who have completed childbearing.Ovarian Cyst RemovalA persistent, enlarging, or painful ovarian cyst is removed, usually laparoscopically. Surgeons generally aim to remove the cyst while preserving the ovary itself, particularly for patients who may want future pregnancy.
Breast Augmentation / ReductionBreast size is increased by placing implants, or decreased by removing breast tissue and skin and repositioning the remaining tissue. Reduction is often performed to relieve back, neck, and shoulder pain caused by breast weight.RhinoplastySurgery that reshapes the nose by altering the bone and cartilage beneath the skin. It is performed to change appearance, to correct breathing problems caused by internal structure, or both. Swelling takes months to fully resolve.FaceliftLiposuctionFat is suctioned out from beneath the skin through small tubes called cannulas, reshaping a specific area such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. It targets localized deposits and is a contouring procedure rather than a method of weight loss.Wound ReconstructionRebuilds skin and underlying tissue where a wound is too large or too damaged to close directly. Surgeons move nearby tissue, or transfer skin and muscle from elsewhere on the body, to cover the defect. Often follows trauma, infection, or cancer removal.Skin GraftingHealthy skin is taken from one area of the body and transplanted to cover a wound or burn elsewhere. Both the graft site and the donor site need care, and the donor site is often the more uncomfortable of the two.

I had cataract surgery on my right eye a week ago and everything went great. The second week the surgery on my left eye had a problem. The pocket formed when they took the lens out collapsed and we had to rest for a few hours and then try again. During the time between surgeries the nurses were fantastic. Sandy, who was the nurse in surgery came and checked on me about every half hour and then called me at home to make sure everything was all right. Nicol who was in post op not only took great care of me but also brought my wife back to sit with me so that she didn't worry. The second surgery went well and we got the lens installed but it was the nurses, Sandy and Nicol, who provided outstanding 5 star service.

I recently underwent a medical procedure at Ocotillo Surgery Center and I cannot speak highly enough of the incredible care I received from the surgical team. Like many people, I had a lot of apprehension going into the procedure. However, from the moment I met everyone, my fears began to dissipate. The doctor and support staff were not only highly skilled but also exceptionally compassionate. Their warmth and professionalism made a world of difference in easing my anxiety. The procedure went smoothly, and the recovery process has been better than I could have hoped for. Thank you for the excellent care I received, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone in need of surgical services. They truly went above and beyond to ensure I felt safe, supported, and well cared for throughout the entire experience.

Ocotillo Surgery Center provided an outstanding experience from start to finish. The moment I walked in, I was immediately impressed by how clean and well-maintained the facility is. The attention to detail in keeping the environment pristine really stood out and helped create a calming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly patient and empathetic to my situation. They took the time to listen to my concerns, ensured I was comfortable, and genuinely cared about my well-being. I was feeling quite anxious about my procedure, but their kindness and professionalism made all the difference in easing my nerves. A special shout-out to my surgeon, Dr. John Davis, who went above and beyond in providing exceptional care. When I had a medical concern late at night, he personally called me at 1 AM to discuss it. He patiently walked me through every detail, answered all my questions, and provided the reassurance I needed. His dedication and compassion were truly remarkable, and knowing that I was in such capable hands during a stressful time was incredibly comforting. I am deeply sadden by my diagnoses, but extremely grateful to have such a strong and supportive team guiding me through each step of the way. Between the spotless facility, the caring staff, and the attentiveness of my surgeon, my experience at Ocotillo Surgery Center was top-notch. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking exceptional surgical care with a personal touch.
