Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

I was nervous my first visit but, after that I no longer felt that way. It is incredibly organized, from the front office to the operating room to discharge. I have had many back procedures over 12years but this facility was very organized. I was well cared for, from start to finish. All of the nurses explained everything & I always knew what was happening and what was going to happen, from the time I checked in to discharge. Dr. Pico is a wonderful doctor and everyone is happy and seem to enjoy what they do. Also I like the lobby patient monitor system they have so you know the process of where the patient is of the procedure.

I wanted to wait until I had been to the center two times before I wrote a review because my first experience was so extraordinary! Good news, the second visit was just as great. This place is incredibly organized, from the front office to the operating room to discharge. The woman at the front desk is delightful; as a director of first impressions, she does a terrific job. I was well cared for, from start to finish. My nurses explained everything to me; I always knew what was happening and what was going to happen, from the time I checked in to the operating room to discharge. They are a great team who works well together and it is very obvious they enjoy their jobs. Dr. Pico is a wonderful doctor who also gave me a step by step account of what was happening, when it was happening. If you have to have surgery, I hope you are lucky enough to have it here.
