Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

I give up. I got a call from them after a Lens Crafter referral. They told me I need another referral from my personal doctor and it was sent in. No one ever called me back. For weeks I've been calling and leaving messages. They ignored the referral, Never once answered the phone and never returned any messages. I guess they're just blowing off new patients. Called another eye care provider and easily got an appointment. Not sure what the deal is there, but I guess they don't care or don't know how to use a phone. Big waste of time.

Very unprofessional. I was scheduled for cataract surgery. I had several questions that were important to me and I called to ask a question of the patient counselor. No one answered the phone I was sent to voicemail. I left a message and the voicemail stated it would take 48 hours to get back to me because I had more than a week before my surgery. I decided to wait the two days for the patient counselor to get back to me unfortunately no one called me back. I called twice more left another voicemail and the the third time I called I reached a live person who told me that she would leave the message for the patient counselor call me back. I told that person was very important that I had a week out before my surgery and I needed some answers to a couple of questions. I waited and no one called me back. Three days before my surgery, I called again this time at 8 o’clock in the morning, and I was told that there was no one available to speak with, but that he would leave a message for the patient counselor. I waited until 1149 in the morning and called back. I was told that the patient counselor was given my message at 8:40. Receive a call. This was some of the most unprofessional uncaring service I have ever seen so I canceled my surgery If the staff cannot return calls and answer questions for someone who is scheduled for surgery and obviously they have no Care. I would never recommend this Office. Now I have to start all over again with another referral which will further delay my surgery. Once I complained, someone called me back in the afternoon to say that oh we’ve been playing phone tag which was a lie because no one called me back and the only way you can play phone tag is to keep missing each other’s calls and I did not miss any of their calls. I did not get any calls.. So take your chances with this office if you dare

This is a great place to go to care for your eyes. Dr. Krad is wonderful! He’s a great surgeon and really cares about his patients. The staff is friendly and kind. They are very accommodating to patient’s schedules. I highly recommend Eye Associates of Orange County!

What an incredible experience it has been! To say that Drs. Krad and Pham are geniuses, is a true understatement! As a new patient, I was welcomed so warmly and it was obvious that the entire staff valued me. All my questions were answered. Both doctors took their time with me and put to rest any fear and/or apprehension that I had. And the end result is absolutely unbelievable! My vision is so crystal clear that only now can I see what I been missing out on. I am eternally appreciative to the entire staff for making this journey possible.

I had the best experience going to the Eye Associates of Orange County. First things first, the front desk staff is very helpful and patient. I felt very taken care of during my vitals and check ins before seeing Dr. Cunningham. Dr. Cunningham was great and took the time to explain to me what the test results meant. I am excited to return and knowing I have a team that cares and takes the time to make sure I understand what is going on. 10/10 would recommend this facility.
