Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through โ€” a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Be ware if you have your colonoscopy here they do not keep all employees in network. They do not fullfill their contract obligation with your insurance company so you will pay more out of pocket even if the facility is in network. For example, we had to pay for the anesthesia CRNA out of pocket, which would of been fully covered if they update their provider roster. How as a patient to control who they chose as a nurse to provide service. Are we as patients suppose to interview all employees and as if they are in network? This is ridiculous having full coverage for a colonoscopy but they don't pay for anesthesia nurse because they are not in network. Definitely will not have my colonoscopy done there again. I will be filing a grievance with this facility!!!!!

Excellent doctors and staff. Kind, professional, helpful, organized staff. They took great care of me. They were a team of six people, each one with a particular role from patient intake to the doctor's report on how the procedure went and the next steps in the process. They were wonderful at repeating instructions, explaining the process steps, making sure I understood and was satisfied with the information, and asking if I had any questions. I will happily return to them for future procedures.

I just went to the United Surgery Center in Orange recently for my colonoscopy screening. All the employees at this facility, including Dr. Stanton, were very professional, efficient, and courteous. Glad to see a new generation of doctors, nurses, assistants, and administrative clerks is carrying the baton to provide reliable and trustworthy healthcare.โ€

They scheduled my operation at 12 and required a ride to take me home. Got a call 2 days before stating my appointment was at 9. I requested my driver to be available at 12. They said you should have you and your driver take the whole day off and be on standby for whatever time they tell you 2 days before than the time you have on the scheduled paper. I also got a bill that was thousands higher than the estimated amount I was presented at time of operation.
