Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through โ€” a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

First time for everything for me and the staff at this office made the process very easy. Jason was the initial nurse that did the introductions to the process and steps through the visit. He had a great sense of humor and really nice to interact with. The other staff members and the doctor were very pleasant and made the whole process very simple. The office was focused on explaining patient safety through the process. Highly recommend!

From check in, to the prep work, through the colonoscopy and afterwards, the entire staff was friendly, informative and very knowledgeable as to my needs and what to expect. Even called the next day to make sure I was doing well. This is a well run, first class organization. Thank you for what you do.

What a great experience! No one wakes up and wants a colonoscopy. The entire team was friendly, upbeat, and calm. They explained everything in detail. Julie, Shannon, Erin, and Dr. Harris were fabulous! I highly recommend them!

Great experience! Of course I had heard horror stories of colonoscopies and the prep, but everything went FAR better than I was hoping. Arapahoe Endoscopy had very clear instructions before the procedure, and even called me the day before to make sure I was on track. The day of the procedure went smoothly as everyone was cheerful and took great care of me. The procedure itself went quickly, and recovery was a breeze. All my fears were unfounded and Arapahoe Endoscopy went above and beyond!

Excellent staff, from terrific Tammie at the front desk, to the maximum efficiency, congenial nursing team. These folks have it dialed in! Management must be doing a superb job to have assembled such an exceptional group in one place. A word about the nurses, unexpected in this setting: from intake thru recovery, we were impressed by a no nonsense, firmly cheerful, commandingly professional attitude that was familiar to us as EMS veterans. Sure enough, it came out that most of these very cool people came from previous careers in serious acute care. It shows! Great experience! Fabulous facility! Thanks, everyone!
