Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

What an exceptional surgery center!!! I highly recommend this practice! Beautiful facility! Excellent in every way! I was contacted by phone days before my surgery with clear and detailed instructions for preparations for my surgery. The nurse was so thorough and concise assuring that I could easily remember and follow her instructions. Every encounter I had via phone was handled professionally, with great attention to detail. My questions were welcomed and answered immediately, confidently and kindly. I was immediately comforted by the friendly and professional demeanor of Gail, my nurse, and every single person I encountered before, during, and after my surgery. Trust is everything when it comes to surgery decisions and I trust this facility and everyone there. My team with Surgeon Dr. Amiel - was nurse Gail, Michele, anesthesiologist Jessica and post-op nurse Darcy. Everything perfect in all ways!!! Couldn't ask for more. Perfection!!!

I have had surgery on both of my eyes. The staff and surgical team are awesome people. I would recommend them to everyone who needs surgery. My first surgery they walked me though the process and made me feel comfortable and in caring hands. From the start to the finish I felt I was in good hands. Even getting a warm blanket to making me comfortable. Upon my arrival a month later I was greeted by my first name. Again, I received the same caring attention. They are wonderful and caring people. I received follow up call after each surgery which just continued that caring attitude. Thank you for making the surgeries go so smooth and a positive outcome Billie Campbell Parker, CO
