Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Everyone at the Endoscopy center & the GI office in this building has poor communication. I was told that Ubering home from my colonoscopy was fine by my doctor and scheduled the procedure, but when I did the phone call fory medical history before the procedure they said I cant uber home. So now I have no way to get my procedure done and no path forward for my GI healthcare. I have a history of precancerous polyps, a prolapse, fissures, almost daily bleeding and blood clots when pooping, and a family history of Crohns disease. Am I just supposed to suffer or get colon cancer because I dont have family to drive me home? It's ridiculous and extremely unprofessional. They wont even let me do the procedure without anesthesia.

10 am appt saw me waiting 7 hours. Staff went to lunch and came back. Staff were leaving for the day when called in. No explanation. Avoid at all costs. Why even bother the farce of making appointments?

I had an overall great experience with Dr. Eid and her team (front desk staff, my nurse Kaitlyn) for my endoscopy/colonoscopy here. Staff were friendly and informative from start to finish and the whole process was smooth and efficient. I was very anxious for this day but left feeling really reassured and peaceful because of the care I received. Thank you for everything!

Appt scheduled for 840AM. They asked me to arrive at 815 to ensure I'm "ready" for the procedure. 2hrs later we were still sitting there waiting. We left. Going to find another provider. Your time doesn't matter to them I guess.

I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy done on August 15 of current year and I had a great experience just like the previous two I had done at Riverside Endoscopy. As soon as the nurse took me inside to prep me for the procedures, I felt great. She was the best nurse I ever, ever had in my entire life. I was nervous, which is normal, but the Nurse made feel at home. She was just amazing, I am so lucky I met her. I am very grateful for her kindness and her amazing love for me as a patient. Thank you so very much and I am looking forward to go to the procedures follow up on October 16th. God bless her.
