Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.
Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

It’s very rare especially nowdays that when you go somewhere you receive excellent customer service from (Everyone on staff) lol but i was blessed to have this wonderful establishment along with resurgents take care of me! Beyond doing good work they made me feel very comfortable and at ease which is why i am thrilled and want the world to know how great these people are! Thanks again 🙏… truly

The staff and Dr are amazing and very professional. I would have given them 5 stars but the facility was freezer cold. Every patient was complaining. Otherwise, it's a great place.

I had a procedure today for epidural injections in my low back with Dr. Dows-Martinez. I work in an ASC, in credentialing and helping get us ready surveys. This surgery center was clean, the staff was the best hands down, and I felt so comfortable as soon as I got there. The pre-op team was phenomenal, I was terrified about the whole thing but I don’t like IVs at all. The nurse was talking to me and I didn’t even feel the IV, she was great. The OR team were a lot of fun, and I just think the world of Dr. Dows-Martinez anyway. The procedure was more uncomfortable than painful and I was just blown away by the care I received today. Post op was quick and efficient and very easy to talk to. For someone who gets surgery centers ready to go through surveys I’ll say that it was a great experience. Time out was flawless, anesthesia did great. Well done East West ASC and team. Great team work, great atmosphere, and clean facilities.
