Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

Procedure list is based on CMS-reported specialty designations. Contact the facility to confirm specific procedures offered.

I WAS an established patient at this office. Today, I was supposed to be seen for my yearly eye check examination. While I was in the shower, my husband notified me that my appointment (which was made a year ago) had been canceled due to the fact I didn't fill out information through my email. This made me agitated to say the least! I called the office furious and stated how do you treat 90 year old patients that might not even have access to the internet???? Only then I was told the appointment had been canceled because the Doctor had a personal emergency! Why wasn't I told that in the first place? This office needs training in proper communication with their patients. I won't be going back.

My surgery was performed by Doctor Keith Berry on both right and left eyes. Following both events Doctor Berry personally called me to check on my condition that first day. I am 80 years old, and never has any doctor done this before. My results are absolutely amazing, and I could not be more pleased. I recommend him and his staff to anyone considering cataract surgery in the highest degree.

From start to finish, the level of professionalism and knowledge was exceptional. The entire team is attentive, well-informed, and takes the time to make sure you truly understand what’s happening and why. The doctor is especially impressive. He clearly knows his stuff and explains things in a way that actually clicks. I had several real aha moments during my visit, and after following his very first recommendation, I noticed clarity and improvement almost immediately. That alone built a lot of trust. It’s refreshing to experience care that’s both professional and effective. Highly recommend this team if you’re looking for knowledgeable service and a doctor who delivers real results.

My wife and I visited Doctor Yancey's office yesterday on 9/11/ 2025 and were a few minutes late for our appointment. The staff took us right in and we were taken care of in the usual prompt way as if there was no delay. Everything was as smooth and professional and friendly as always. We have full confidence in Doctor Yancey and her efficient staff , always friendly and always professional. Thank you , Nolan and Jacqueline Spry.
