Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Tonsillectomy / AdenoidectomyThe tonsils and sometimes the adenoids are removed for repeated infections or sleep-disordered breathing. Recovery is notably harder for adults than children, with significant throat pain for a week or more and a real emphasis on staying hydrated.Ear Tube PlacementTiny tubes are placed through the eardrum to drain fluid and ventilate the middle ear, most often for children with recurrent ear infections. The procedure takes about 10 minutes and the tubes usually fall out on their own within a year.Sinus Surgery (FESS)A camera and instruments passed through the nostrils open blocked sinus drainage pathways, with no external incisions. Considered for chronic sinusitis that has not improved with medication. Congestion often worsens briefly before it improves.SeptoplastyThe wall of cartilage and bone between the nostrils is straightened to improve airflow through a blocked side. It addresses breathing rather than external appearance, though it is sometimes combined with cosmetic reshaping.Turbinate ReductionSwollen tissue inside the nose is shrunk to improve airflow, frequently at the same time as septoplasty. Often the difference between a nose that is structurally straight and one that actually feels open.LaryngoscopyA scope examines the voice box and vocal cords, used for persistent hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, or throat pain that has not resolved. Small lesions can sometimes be biopsied or removed during the same procedure.

Procedure list is based on CMS-reported specialty designations. Contact the facility to confirm specific procedures offered.

My son had his tonsils and adnoid taken out. Dr. Jerels and the staff explained everything to us thoroughly. They are very friendly and made sure my son was comfortable. They did their best to calm his nerves. When he came out of surgery they were attentive to our needs. I am sad that Dr. Jerels is retiring, I would recommend him to everyone. Thank you to the surgery team for taking such good care of us.

We have been coming to the ENT center for decades, and I will always have a heart full of gratitude for the compassionate care and highly skilled care that we have been given under all of these doctors watch! Three of my children had critical issues that were handled with The Atmos speed and professionalism over the years and we are eternally grateful for their wellness and the ENT center being a huge part of that. We would never consider going anywhere but here as loyal Middle Georgia clients We love all the doctors and they are truly the definition of a team! We have had everything from adenoidectomy to tonsillectomy to allergy shots and hearing aids over the years and it has all been wonderful. My son had a very serious deviated septum among other issues and two of my children had severe asthma that They rarely suffer with as adults because of the tremendous care they were given as children. I always feel that I am given all the information to make educated decisions and exercise the best option for myself and my family.

I showed up for an 1115 appt and was taken to the back on time. Staff was very friendly. I was put into room for Dr he came in after only a couple of minutes. I needed a hearing test and again that was maybe a 2 minute wait. After that was done the Dr came in almost immediately with results. I was pleasantly surprised with the wait times and treatment. Great job!
