Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Epidural Steroid InjectionsSteroid medication is injected near irritated spinal nerve roots to calm inflammation causing sciatica or arm pain. Often used to make physical therapy tolerable rather than as a standalone cure. There are limits on how frequently they can be repeated.Nerve Block InjectionsAnesthetic, sometimes with steroid, is injected around a specific nerve to interrupt pain signals. Used both to treat pain and to identify its source, since relief from a precisely placed block points to the nerve responsible.Radiofrequency AblationHeat generated by radio waves disables the small nerves carrying pain signals from an arthritic spinal joint. Relief commonly lasts six months to two years. Because the nerves regenerate over time, the procedure can be repeated.Spinal Cord StimulationA device delivers mild electrical pulses to the spinal cord to interrupt chronic pain signals before they reach the brain. A temporary trial period is done first, so you can judge the benefit before committing to a permanent implant.Joint InjectionsSteroid or lubricating medication is injected directly into an arthritic or inflamed joint. Image guidance is often used to confirm placement. Relief typically lasts weeks to months and can make physical therapy more productive.Trigger Point InjectionsA local anesthetic is injected into a taut, tender knot of muscle to break the spasm-and-pain cycle. The appointment takes minutes and you can usually return to normal activity the same day.

Decided to give this practice another shot after a bad experience in 2022, im glad I did. They have a new nurse practitioner named Valerie and shes wonderful. For once I feel heard about the pain and things im going through with my disease. Thanks to Valerie taking the time to actually listen to me we also found some other semi serious conditions that need to be kept an eye on. Thanks Valerie! Also the ladies up front are wonderful to. If I call with questions or scheduling they are always so kind! Going to add, I also see Salina Velasco for my veins and she is absolutly wonderful to! Im glad to have such a strong team of wonderful people that are helping me get my health under control so I can finally be able to run and play with my kiddos again ❤️

She is a great nurse she listens cares and suggests what to do to help with your pain. I'm going to go to get surgery done and she made me feel more comfortable about it. I want this doctor to be my permanent doctor . The whole center for pain control staff are very nice and always friendly. I also have a friend he goes to pain management but it's in South bend and I'm going to recommend him coming to Valparaiso or LaPorte 😊

Valerie was very helpful, very considerate and extremely understanding when I had questions or giving my actual feelings towards the process I received. She’s a great asset to the Pain control center. She makes you feel at home or as some may say she really put you at ease. I would recommend going to Valerie for just about anything under the sun. The staff at the front desk was very pleasant this morning. The nurse that checked me in was extremely professional and caring. She had no problem, listening to my concerns and then forwarding the information to Valerie. Another great asset for Pain management.
