Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

I had a total knee replacement in September 2024 at the JRSC across the Blvd from Center for Orthopedics on Imperial Blvd. and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable...from the receptionist who checked me in, assistants, nurses, the fabulous anesthesiologist who made sure I didn't have a single second of nausea, Dr. Hale (surgeon) telling me what to expect and asking if I had any questions, right up to the physical therapist who "walked me through" during her post-op visit and made sure everything was as it should be so I could go home...a great, informative experience. I realize I'm still pumped full of localized pain killers, nerve and pain blockers, (they warned me about a honeymoon period good for 72 hours), but so far it's not bad at all. I'll update as all of that wears off. The JRC kept me updated for weeks prior to surgery right up until the day before with text messages full of vital info and helpful tips to fully prepare me for my procedure. My last pre-op office visit with Marc Hebert at Center for Orthopedics even included a 15 minute video with Dr. Steven Hale displaying the material used and a detailed description of the procedure, along with helpful pre-op procedures to prevent infections. These people honestly have their stuff together. The only thing missing was Dr. John Noble, my favorite surgeon, injection giver, etc. of all time, retired due to health reasons. But I have no doubt he had a hand in developing the operational procedures of the Center. Well done! I'm sure my upcoming second knee replacement will run just as smoothly as this one. A huge recommendation and THANK YOU to you ALL! Honestly, 5 stars aren't enough, and again, well done!
