Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Entered at 12:45. Coffee pot said it had been brewed at 645am. The reception people said they would make coffee for the patient who hadn't been able to have coffee before a procedure. At 2:10, they had cleared the coffee space of all signs of coffee, but returned the clean GLASS coffee mugs. #1) When your patients can not have coffee before a procedure, you SHOULD have coffee available in paper cups so they can drink it on the way home. A Keorig and paper cups would have corrected the situation. At 3pm when the patient was finished, we were told there was no coffee available at all.

This was my first time having a colonoscopy. I had previously done the home tests. I was like most, not thrilled to have the procedure done, but trusted my wonderful PA's advice. My experience today at MNGI's Lakeville location was exceptional. Everyone from the front desk, the nursing staff and Dr. Wang were highly professional and very welcoming. If you need to have it done I would recommend this place. They made me feel like I was the only patient in the office. Thank you!

Very friendly, and polite. I was very nervous heading in but became very comfortable quickly after arriving. I will unfortunately be going back often but am thankful that I feel I have a team that cares about me.

Last year I had my first colonoscopy procedure at this location, and had to do a follow up colonoscopy procedure shortly after, with one of their other specialists at a hospital. Today I had a follow up colonoscopy from all that, and though no one wants 3 colonoscopies in a year, the doctors, nurses and anesthesia specialists were wonderful at every visit. They made it as good of an experience as possible, each and every time. Dr Wang in particular has a very caring manner, explained things well and was very thorough. I am very thankful for their care!

It was a great experience. All my questions were answered by wonderful nurses, nurse anesthetist, anesthesiologists and the GI doctor. Twice they told me" we're going to take good care of you" and it was really true Such a feeling of confidence to have my colonoscopy done there.
