Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Nurses were Gossiping about me in the hallway right outside the door saying I currently had no symptoms (even though I told him my symptoms were reoccurring). And don’t even get me started with dr Susan she had already had a attitude right which she came in because she already was skeptical and didn’t believe me and you wonder why people don’t want to get seen by a doctor because a lot of doctors won’t believe them because they’re not the ones feeling the discomfort. If you work in Healthcare be caring and understanding of you’re patients. Seems like this is a big issue in Mankato.

They need to invest in tablets or something to check in on. They also don't have enough people working the windows. If they are going to work reception windows deal with the patients lines first and maybe don't have them making calls

My recent experience in the radiology department was handled very professionally and efficiently. I was well prepared for what was happening next and my comfort and tolerance for during the MRI was checked frequently. My physician called me with results. The staff made this experience pleasant.

Ya so this place is beyond the worst clinics I’ve ever been to. Totally and completely disingenuous. I was told my Mayo Clinic insurance would fully cover my appointments (they didn’t). They then told me to come back the next day, so a strep throat visit for a simple throat culture turned into a $1000…. Just a shitty place in general. Then the lady at the business office had the audacity to hang up on me.

I have never experienced a medical facility in my life that has the professionalism, care and courtesy that the Mankato Clinic from their Receptionist to the Doctors including maintenance and their housekeeping. Very beautiful facilities and kept very clean. It is the utmost perfect care that any person could ever experience. They treat you with respect, treat you like you are their only patient. They go out of their way to give you the best care and top of the line ongoing care. They treat you like a human being and not just a dollar sign to them. In my experience they take the time to listen to you, take the time to answer any and all question, they make sure you understand everything, know what to expect before you leave their clinic. They do not hesitate one bit to go above and beyond what one would expect. The Mankato Clinic and Mankato Pain Clinic are a top notch medical facility and should be a role model for all medical facilities. I will never go anywhere else. They are my medical family now and forever. Great job everyone and keep up the good work.
