Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

I received very detailed and easy-to-follow instructions for the prep. The facility is close to where I live and is very clean and orderly. Everyone with whom I interacted was very kind and professional. The anesthesia worked great, I was completely out during the procedure, which is a good thing! No problems after. Went out for a nice meal of Thai food (I was starving!). Food never tasted so good! Sorry, I don't have any photos I'd care to share (and they'd better not either!)

Colonoscopy - I rarely make reviews but had to for this. I did my first colonoscopy at MNGI VADNAIS heights today and had the most amazing experience, the lady team was wholesome, kind and made me feel very comfortable despite my anxiety and nervousness. Keep up the good work Dr. Shaeron and Dr. Bharmal, Nurses Racheal, Sydney, Andrea, Heather and CRNAs Emily and Laticia.

I’m newly diagnosed with Celiac Disease, and was referred here by my general practitioner. It’s a long drive for me but it is 100% worth it based on the care I received. Dr. Meyer is an incredible empath, teacher, AND listener. He really took his time (over 30 min) to teach me what is happening inside my body. His use of diagrams and analogies were especially helpful, along with great resources like books and websites that will keep me on track with my new diet. My appointment with him was very informative and even therapeutic. Every tech, nurse, and staff member was incredibly kind and understanding. Typically I’m an incredibly anxious person, but I’m genuinely looking forward to my next visit. 10/10!!

Amazing facility my husband was well taken care of. Everyone was polite and nice. Everything was very well explained and all the questions answered. There is a big lobby inside and another outside very clean with high chairs and high tables where you can work with your computer. There are charging stations for phones. The toilet are very clean. The parking lot is big and clean. There is a shopping center right across the street so while waiting for my husband we went there to spent some time.
