Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

Work experience ever in my life. They have your appointment for a particular time and yet you sit 2 to 3 hours in the waiting room before you’re ready to go back. Never enough seating because in the lobby because it’s full with patients waiting. I will be submitting information to the BBB about this because this is highly uncalled for and extremely unprofessional. I wish I could give them a 0 star because that’s what the honestly deserve including the staff

For over 2 years I have taken Mom to her appointments here. Not once has she been seen earlier than an hour past her appointment time! They overbook. They apologize, but they NEVER do anything about it. These reviews are filled with similar stories. It’s the very nature of this enterprise for patients to anticipate a very disrespectful excessive amount of wait time. Apologies are not corrective action. This office manager is obviously not concerned about it, but is more concerned about making money for the business by herding patients like cattle.

Mother's first scheduled appointment 2 and a half hours late. Then procedure began. Second scheduled appointment 2 hours and fifty minutes behind schedule. Then procedure began. These were both cataract surgeries. Terrible time appointment scheduling. Should not book more work than they can achieve in a timely manner. Very disappointed.

If you have an entire day to waste and don’t mind sitting in an uncomfortable chair this is the place for you!! Appointment time was 3:15, my husband arrived at 3:00. He finally left at 5:49 without being seen. The office still had other patients who arrived after we did when he left. At that rate we anticipated we wouldn’t be seen until after 7. Scheduling patients then having them wait for 3-4 hours is absolutely disrespectful, we get charged a fee if we are late to our appointment and have to reschedule yet they can run behind for HOURS?!?!?

We are truly greatful Dr. Hogan was gracious enough to squeeze our little girl in for a last minute appointment. It has been our experience of quite difficulty obtaining an appointment as many providers are booked for months nowadays so the wait was humbling and well worth it for us. Staff here were warm and welcoming and we left with the sense Dr. Hogan genuinely cared for the well being of our daughter.
