Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

HysteroscopyA slim camera passed through the cervix examines the inside of the uterus, and can remove polyps or fibroids in the same visit. No abdominal incision is involved. Cramping for a day or two afterward is normal.LaparoscopyA camera and instruments are inserted through small abdominal incisions, allowing diagnosis and treatment without a large open incision. Used for endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and pelvic pain, with recovery measured in days rather than weeks.D&C (Dilation and Curettage)The cervix is dilated and the uterine lining removed, for heavy bleeding, after a miscarriage, or to obtain tissue for diagnosis. The procedure takes 10 to 15 minutes and most people return to normal activity within a day or two.Tubal LigationThe fallopian tubes are sealed, cut, or removed to provide permanent contraception. It should be considered irreversible — reversal is not reliably successful, so it is intended for people certain they do not want future pregnancy.Endometrial AblationThe uterine lining is destroyed to reduce or stop heavy menstrual bleeding, offering an alternative to hysterectomy. It is not a contraceptive, and it is only appropriate for those who have completed childbearing.Ovarian Cyst RemovalA persistent, enlarging, or painful ovarian cyst is removed, usually laparoscopically. Surgeons generally aim to remove the cyst while preserving the ovary itself, particularly for patients who may want future pregnancy.
Bunion Correction (Bunionectomy)The bony prominence at the base of the big toe is removed and the bone realigned, often with screws or plates. Recovery involves weeks in a protective shoe or boot, and swelling can persist for several months.Hammertoe CorrectionA toe permanently bent at the middle joint is straightened, sometimes with a temporary pin holding the correction. Considered when the toe rubs painfully in shoes or has developed calluses and sores.Plantar Fascia ReleaseThe tight band of tissue along the bottom of the foot is partially released to relieve stubborn heel pain. Reserved for cases that have not improved after months of stretching, orthotics, and other conservative treatment.Ankle ArthroscopyA small camera and instruments treat problems inside the ankle joint — impingement, loose fragments, or damaged cartilage — through incisions a few millimeters wide, avoiding a larger open exposure.Ingrown Toenail RemovalThe edge of a nail growing into the surrounding skin is removed under local anesthesia. When the problem keeps recurring, the nail-forming tissue at that edge is also treated so it does not grow back.Foot Fracture RepairBroken bones in the foot are realigned and stabilized with hardware so they heal in position. Because the foot bears your full weight with every step, alignment matters more here than the small bone size suggests.

Everyone on staff here is so friendly and helpful! Both my husband and I had surgery at this center and would highly recommend it! Appreciate the care from Katie, Janet and Adam - top notch! Dr. Buddecke is one of the best foot surgeons out there and would highly recommend him - this is the surgery facility we were scheduled.

I had Achilles tendon repair at Midwest surgery center and I thought they were amazing! Michele, the receptionist was so friendly and answered all of my email questions. I loved Katie and Janet. We had a good conversation while I was waiting and they were so personable and took very good care of me. And they were very professional and told me everything I needed to know. Adam was the nurse anesthetist and he was also very thorough and gentle. I had very little pain! I highly recommend! Everyone was personable, but professional and detailed, and told me everything that was happening before it happened. I highly recommend!

My mother had surgery and her surgeon was great. I appreciate them taking care of my mother. On the other hand the two receptionist's are so unprofessional when I walked in I didn't get l greeted, because they were too busy talking amongst themselves about their new years plans! Mind you I had been there since 9:30 am and not once was I offered a drink or anything until after I came back from having lunch at 11:30 am. They went from talking loud like no one was in the office to Whispering like mice how annoying and unprofessional, I didn't understand why they had two receptionist when it was only two people having surgery. I was so annoyed waiting on my mother to get done. Like I said I thank the nurse Flossie and the surgeon but they two ladies at the front desk talk too much I shouldn't know anything about the personal lives!
