Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Dr. Schwartz and his staff were great. They’re all very nice and fun! I definitely recommend this place for a colonoscopy, and will definitely be returning for my next! All five stars earned.

Asked for a quote and paid my portion in full within the first month. One year and a half later, i'm still getting random unexplained bills from the procedure in the mail. My GI dr was great and I left him a great review at the facility he was at. But good luck here with finances.

I'd booked a colonoscopy and had talked to the staff two weeks before my appointment about transportation. They said I needed a medical transport, since I couldn't drive myself, so I made an appointment with one of the companies they recommended. Then the day before my procedure Samaritan tells me the medical transport is not sufficient, and I need a babysitter after my procedure. I had no time to get help, so had to cancel my appointment. I guess if I'm rotting from colon cancer in a few years, the hospital will let me stay there under their supervision.

Had a procedure done in May, they contracted out the anesthesiologist to coronis health. It should have all been covered, surprise surprise 1037$ bill! The service was in-network, but the hired nurse was contracted through California. Which is out of network. Yay , for great health care that keeps giving me different people to call.

Dr. Schwartz is great however this is the WORST experience just to get a colonoscopy scheduled. It takes over a month and then you have to talk to 4 people before you can even get the scheduler on the phone. Once that finally happened it took about 20 minutes to get it scheduled. However, then I was told one date and she then confirmed another date. Really unbelievable. Unfortunately this is not my first visit there. I may consider driving 45 minutes further to not have to put up with this nonsense.
