Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Cataract SurgeryThe clouded natural lens of the eye is removed and replaced with a clear artificial one. It is one of the most common outpatient procedures performed in the country, usually takes under 30 minutes per eye, and is done under light sedation with numbing drops rather than general anesthesia.LASIK / Refractive SurgeryA laser reshapes the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism, reducing dependence on glasses or contacts. The procedure itself takes minutes per eye. Vision is often noticeably better within a day, though it can take several weeks to fully stabilize.Glaucoma SurgeryCreates a new drainage path for fluid inside the eye to lower internal pressure. Glaucoma damages the optic nerve silently, so the goal is preventing further vision loss rather than restoring vision already lost. Several minimally invasive options are now performed in outpatient settings.Retinal SurgeryRepairs the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye, most often for a detached or torn retina, or for bleeding related to diabetes. Timing matters — a detaching retina is treated urgently because delay increases the risk of permanent vision loss.Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)Removes excess skin and fat from the upper or lower eyelids. When drooping upper lids block part of the visual field, the procedure is functional rather than cosmetic and is often covered by insurance if visual field testing documents the obstruction.Corneal TransplantReplaces damaged or clouded corneal tissue with donor tissue. Modern techniques often replace only the affected layer rather than the full thickness, which shortens recovery. Vision improves gradually over months, and stitches may stay in place for a year or longer.

You are always asked for prepay for insurance adjustments prior to surgery. I completely understand that. But if your insurance pays more than they anticipated and they owe you money, they dont repay timely. Im going on 4 months and I keep getting bills stating I owe them, when in reality they have owed me from four months ago. This is the third tine I have had surgery at this surgery center, anfmd this happened every time. They have no explanation, and their "customer service" staff via the 877 number on the bill are not helpful but they say to wait one more month. Its been since July. They do not listen, and no one at their billing center can solve the problem. Lots of money going to them, but very little going out....poor customer service.

The front desk staff was rude. She never acknowledged us when we walked in the desk to check in, she was in a conversation with another employee . When I had to get her attention to get instructions, she was extremely rude when telling us what to do next. It would be nice to be acknowledged and greeted with a smile. Customer service is everything. We were there on 10/8/2024 at 8:30 am

I had to write a letter to the surgeon to get them to reschedule my surgery appointment. They waited until the day before my surgery to call & leave a long message about important things I neede to know before my surgery which I didn’t read until the next day. So, I had to reschedule a third time. That whole section needs to be retrained to assist patients in a more compassionate and easier way. They are immature and rude. I haven’t made it to the surgery part yet.

This is the most horribly run doctors office I have ever been to. Their mission statement talks about respect and consideration for their patients, but they do not practice it. Their scheduling process needs a major overhaul for starters. If you have a choice, I suggest finding a different place.
