Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

CystoscopyA thin camera passed through the urethra examines the bladder lining. Used to investigate blood in the urine, recurrent infections, or urinary difficulty. The procedure takes only a few minutes and is often done with numbing gel rather than sedation.Kidney Stone Treatment (Lithotripsy)Shock waves break a kidney stone into fragments small enough to pass in the urine. No incision is required. Passing the fragments over the following days can still be uncomfortable, and a temporary stent is sometimes placed to keep the ureter open.Transurethral ResectionTissue is removed through the urethra using a scope, with no external incision — most commonly to relieve urinary obstruction from an enlarged prostate, or to remove bladder tumors. A catheter typically stays in place briefly afterward.VasectomyCircumcisionProstate ProceduresA group of treatments addressing an enlarged prostate blocking urine flow, ranging from steam and implant techniques to tissue removal. Options differ meaningfully in recovery time and in their effect on sexual function — worth discussing specifically.

What an awesome place. From intake to discharge I had a fantastic experience. Jen, Kate, Amy, Dr Knoll, Doug…all of them fantastic. Always very disturbing having surgery but everyone made me feel comfort and assured everything was okay. Dr Knoll has fantastic bedside manner. All my care staff were the absolute best. I hate I can’t remember all their names but they all deserve praise.

Horrible place.... Southern hills set up procedure last week. After multiple ER visits, hospitalist said to call Monday to move up appt. I called moved up appt this week. I asked when would pre-admission nurse be calling?? Nobody has called and app for set up last week. I had to move appt up do due pain and suffering etc. I am not disclosing any dx etc. The paperwork reflects your copay is due at time of service. If you are unable to pay your co pay ...surgery center will reschedule your appointment. I called this morning left messages. Nobody called back. I called again after lunch time finally Valerie answers the phone. She was very rude and unprofessional. I told her I called left messages no call back. I was informed copay is xyz. She said it is the patient's responsibility to verify insurance and pre-auth. No it is not. Facility verifies insurance, obtains authorization NOT the patient. Valerie was very argumentative. This facility has bad reviews, lack of communication. Most professional surgery center call pt and let them know they verified coverage and the patient's portion. This place never called. I called several times then finally Valerie answered the phone. The paperwork has several different phone numbers listed. Very confusing when you are trying to contact someone. The paperwork reflects it is patient's responsibility to understand their benefits. That is a stupid statement. Some patients are blind, can't see, very ill, old, and sick. As a courtesy the facility should explain, educate, to patients...ok I verified your benefits per Avality....meaning they verified benefits online. This amount is your copay, Co insurance or deductible and explain why. We went ahead with appt due to medically necessity. We will not use this facility in future. They are all about money. They do not help patients and try to make things easier for a very ill 80 yr old. Nobody called to say xyz is having IV sedation or what. I had to call several times today. I had surgery in the past and I had a excellent experience. Communication was great. This facility does not even have 5 stars. I can see why.

Husband was scheduled for a procedure. Called the day before to cancel due to authorization needed by insurance. The surgery was scheduled 4 days prior. Waited till the day before to let him know. Horrible.

TERRIBLE my surgery has been scheduled for over a week. After multiple back and forth with the doctor and scheduling I show up for my time 6am 5/8/24 only to be told I was never put on the schedule!!!!! I’m not sitting here waiting for a manager to see if they can fit me in. What a joke this place really needs to figure out their issues. I’m beyond disappointed and frustrated.
