Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

My husband had a laminectomy with Dr Belanger on 10/11/2023 at this surgical suite. We had the BEST experience with this whole team. I don’t remember all the names but everyone was exceptional. The lady who checked us in was very good and informative. John Oscar and Denise in the back were top notch. Dr Belanger and his entire surgical team cannot be beat. The surgical suite itself was fabulous. It had everything that could possibly be needed. It was very clean and organized. Very nice environment. I loved the one on one attention my husband received. I couldn’t have asked for one thing more to make it better. John called my husband the next morning to check up on him. Great great service. Thank you all so much!

I had foot surgery on May 25 at Oak Point Surgical Suites in Plano. It was an amazingly wonderful experience. From Jennifer, the receptionist, to John, my nurse, to Oscar, OR nurse, to Dr. G, my anesthesiologist, and Dr. Lampe, my surgeon, I offer deep and genuine gratitude. They made an anxious experience a real pleasant one. They were all amazing and super friendly and professional.

I have been here twice and both experiences were stellar. My nurses, John, Heather, and Nakita made me feel safe in a nervous surgery situation. They are compassionate and so comforting in what is an extremely stressful situation for any patient. They are also extremely good at their jobs. I couldn’t have done it without them. The anesthesiologists Sunny and Dr H were some of the best I’ve had, again they made me feel so safe! I don’t want more surgery, but if I need it, I want to go to Oak Point.

The whole surgery was a success! The staff and nurses were so amazing and nice! They made me feel confident that everything was going to be great and that I’ll be back home resting in no time. Definitely recommend coming here or referring family if they will be having surgery.

I had a surgical procedure at the facility on 11/2/22. The front office staff, nurses, doctors were all great. I would especially like to send special thanks to Oscar who is a nurse. I had a difficult time getting an IV placed on top of foot. After several painful needle pokes which were not successful, Oscar came in and was able to get IV placed on the first attempt within seconds and was painless. So thanks so much Oscar for getting the job done and calming me before the procedure. You are the best. Oscar is the go to person for placing an IV on top of foot.
