Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

I had an excellent experience at Woodland Surgery Center. From check-in to discharge, every staff member was kind, professional, and attentive. Dr. Lumsden was great to work with — reassuring, clear in his explanations, and genuinely caring. The nurses and surgical team made me feel comfortable and well supported throughout the entire process. I’m very grateful for how smoothly everything went. I highly recommend Woodland Surgery Center.

Everyone was so kind and professional. Made me feel comfortable the minute I stepped into the building. Dr. Hennigan is amazing. Has the patients to fully explain what he will be doing in the operating room. He never seemed rushed. He followed up immediately with my husband after the surgery. Besty RN and my surgery room RN were so kind. Talked with me, calmed my nerves and just over all super sweet. Thank you to the whole team. My anesthesiologist who did my nerve block.. awesome!!! I don't remember a thing 😊 and the block lasted thru my first night into the next day. Thank you woodland surgery center! Sandy W.

Dr Olvey is a great doctor and surgeon. He made my surgery as pain free and worry free as possible. He took the time to explain everything he would do and what the expected outcome would be. The nursing staff was excellent as well. They really made it an enjoyable experience. Not something you would normally say about surgery.
