Common Procedures

Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Trigger Finger ReleaseThe tunnel a finger tendon runs through is opened so it can glide freely, resolving catching and locking. The procedure takes about 10 minutes under local anesthesia, and most people use the hand for light activity right away.Ganglion Cyst RemovalA fluid-filled cyst near a joint or tendon, usually on the wrist, is removed along with its stalk. Removing the stalk matters — cysts that are only drained have a high rate of returning.Dupuytren's Contracture ReleaseThickened cords in the palm that pull fingers toward the palm are divided or removed so the hand can straighten. Treatment options range from needle and injection techniques to open surgery, and the condition can recur over time.Fracture FixationA broken bone is realigned and held in position with hardware such as pins, plates, or screws so it heals correctly. Used when a fracture is displaced or unstable enough that a cast alone would not maintain alignment.Tendon RepairReconnects a torn tendon so muscle can move bone again. Because tendons heal slowly and under tension, recovery involves a protected period of immobilization followed by gradual loading — rushing this stage risks re-rupture.
