Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

Knee ArthroscopyA camera and small instruments are inserted through incisions the size of a buttonhole to repair cartilage, trim a torn meniscus, or remove loose fragments. Because the joint is not opened fully, recovery is far faster than traditional open knee surgery.Shoulder ArthroscopyUses a small camera and instruments through tiny incisions to repair the shoulder joint — commonly for impingement, labral tears, or damaged cartilage. Most patients go home the same day and begin physical therapy within the first week.ACL ReconstructionRebuilds the torn anterior cruciate ligament using a graft, since a fully torn ACL does not heal on its own. The surgery itself is outpatient, but returning to cutting and pivoting sports typically takes nine to twelve months of structured rehabilitation.Rotator Cuff RepairReattaches torn tendons in the shoulder to the bone. Pain relief often comes well before strength does — a sling is typical for several weeks and full recovery commonly takes four to six months, with physical therapy doing much of the work.Carpal Tunnel ReleaseCuts the ligament pressing on the median nerve at the wrist to relieve numbness, tingling, and night pain in the hand. The procedure takes about 15 minutes under local anesthesia. Night symptoms often improve immediately; grip strength returns over several weeks.Joint ReplacementDamaged joint surfaces are replaced with implants, most commonly at the knee or hip. Once exclusively a hospital procedure, selected healthy patients now have this done at surgery centers and go home the same day with a structured recovery plan.

I want to recognize Emily and Kyleigh who were my mom’s overnight nurses after her hip replacement on Monday. They both went above and beyond to make sure she was comfortable. They even made sure I was comfortable as a visitor. They both truly embody what it means to be a nurse. That cannot be said about all the nurses I have encountered with my grandfather’s multiple hospital stays over the years. Keep doing a great job!

I would give ten stars if I could Everyone there, from front desk to discharge, was amazing! I was nervous going in but was instantly at ease. Such a great, caring group of people. They were a bit behind, but I was well taken care of in the meantime. Everyone kept checking on me to make sure I had anything I needed, even those not involved with my surgery. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Thank you all!

My experience receiving a hip replacement at Old Tesson Surgery Centre was outstanding. To do proper justice to all of the people at the centre who treated me so well would make this review cumbersomely long; it is a list of people. I will, however name the nurses Nikki and Sam (night shift, Monday, 1 December) who went to great lengths to be kind and attentive to me, to say nothing of providing correct care. They did this for me, knowing that it would delay their departure on a night when the weather was getting bad and preparing to ambush them with a treacherous commute home in the darkness. Thank you, Nikki and Sam.

A day prior to my arrival I was told, I would have to pay X (about 7 times more than the amount I would actually have to pay). My insurance copay is only for a minimal amount, and then all other expenses would bill insurance, leaving a remaining balance if there was one to be had. They wanted an upfront payment of X (again about 7x more) prior to billing insurance bc it was their projected or estimated costs. I write to hopefully help someone. Do, due diligence and be careful. After reading other reviews, it doesn't sound like this is the first time their team have tried to pull a fast one on people to overpay. The overall process and timeline of the surgery was highly professional and I was very pleased with everything that took place in that regard. But again, trying to get me to pay a vast amount of money upfront to have a fairly significant surgery is very distasteful.

From front desk, pre op nurse, OR techs, anesthesiologist, Dr. Smith, Post op nurse….. every single one went above and beyond. Great attitudes, made you feel like they cared, and explained everything before doing it. I would recommend this place if needing surgery. This whole surgery group has been awesome. I broke my ankle not even a week ago and im on my way to recovery already. That says a lot
