Procedures Performed

Common outpatient procedures performed at this ambulatory surgery center, based on reported specialties.

ColonoscopyA flexible camera examines the full length of the colon to screen for cancer and remove polyps before they become cancerous. Done under sedation, it typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. The bowel prep the day before is the part most patients find hardest.Upper Endoscopy (EGD)A thin camera passed through the mouth examines the esophagus, stomach, and the first part of the small intestine. Used to investigate persistent heartburn, difficulty swallowing, unexplained bleeding, or abdominal pain. Usually takes 15 to 30 minutes under sedation.Flexible SigmoidoscopyExamines the lower portion of the colon only, rather than its full length. Preparation is lighter than a full colonoscopy and sedation is sometimes unnecessary, but it cannot detect problems higher in the colon.Capsule EndoscopyYou swallow a vitamin-sized camera that photographs the small intestine as it passes through — a region that standard scopes cannot easily reach. There is no sedation and no recovery. The capsule passes naturally, and images are reviewed after the fact.ERCPCombines endoscopy and X-ray imaging to diagnose and treat blockages in the bile and pancreatic ducts, most often gallstones stuck in a duct. Unlike a routine endoscopy, it carries a meaningful risk of pancreatitis afterward, so it is used when treatment is likely rather than for screening alone.Hemorrhoid TreatmentShrinks or removes swollen veins in the rectum and anus using rubber band ligation, injection, or surgical removal depending on severity. Banding is quick and typically requires no anesthesia; surgical removal is more effective for advanced cases but recovery is noticeably more uncomfortable.

Good: I woke up mid panic attack and the nurse was amazing. She sat with me and made me feel safe. Front desk staff are stellar Office is nice and neat and seemed organized Size inclusive gowns Quickly in and out Not so good: The doctor made an exasperated sound as he entered my room clearly saying-he didn’t want to be there. And was not friendly. They didn’t have Ativan on hand (something I typically get before anesthesia for reasons) which is weird to me. This caused issues for me after They didn’t tell me until I arrived that my driver had to stay on site. I did feel rushed at times

Dr. Fallon is great and I am comfortable with her performing my procedures. However, the anesthesia nurse who administered my anesthesia. She apologized for me waking up a little earlier than expected because when I woke up I could feel them taking a device out of my rectum. Also, when the anesthesia nurse pushed my bed out of the room to be transported to the recovery area, my bed crashed into something where I hit my head against the frame of the bed and heard a loud bang. I had a headache the rest of the day. I felt that the procedure part of my visit was rushed. I have never experience this before at MNGI.

I had a routine colonoscopy this morning and the entire staff at this clinic was absolutely amazing. From the moment I checked in, I was met with professionalism and a calming presence that helped ease my anxiety. The administrative nurse who inserted my IV was gentle and kind, and both the doctor and the head of anesthesia took the time to explain everything detail of the procedure and answer all of my questions. The entire team demonstrated a level of professionalism and compassion. The treatment room was impeccably clean, and the care that I received from the nurse and nurse anesthetist was fantastic. After the procedure the recovery nurse was attentive and ensured I was safely assisted to my vehicle. The whole team I met today is truly in the right profession. Their dedication to providing compassionate and professional care is evident in everything they do. While I don’t remember anyone’s name names, I am incredibly grateful for the amazing team that took care of me this morning. Please extend my sincere thanks to everyone who was working.

I wasn’t aware that the doctor had come into my room to speak with me after the procedure, as I was still sedated at the time. I was very disappointed to have missed him. That said, I truly appreciated receiving the results of my procedure so promptly to take home. While I didn’t fully understand what the doctor had observed, my primary care physician was able to review everything with me a few days later, which was very helpful. I would also like to recognize Georgia, the nurse who brought me into my room. She was an absolute delight—kind, professional, and reassuring as she explained each step of the process. Overall, aside from missing the chance to speak with the doctor, everything went very smoothly, and I’m grateful for the excellent care I received.
